Can you modify your mortgage?

President Obama signed the Home Adjustment Modification Program or HAMP into law earlier this year. You can apply to your mortgage company to lower your mortgage to 31% of your income if you can document how the changed economy has impacted you. Write to your mortgage company and include a letter detailing your income drop, two years tax returns and your last 6 months bank statements.
